Devlog Week 5: Menus - They're Done
So, that wraps up the long journey through the menu rewrite. The save / load UI is all complete (for now, I still have plans for future improvement), and it's back to making content.
Here it is in action
On a whim I decided to add a global 'reputation' system, so people will treat you differently based on how you've treated others in a more general sense, rather than just their specific interactions with you. The next steps are to add a bunch more places where that gets used to actually show off the system outside of debug test areas.
There have also been some miscellaneous visual improvements, stuff like certain UI elements fading out rather than abruptly popping out of existence, new geometry and textures, that sort of thing.
